Stayed here recently and found the staff very friendly and helpful.. The proprietors Peter and Doreen go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.. The prices are very reasonable and the bar is full of friendly locals. The atmosphere is 'party like' and there was live music on the night we stayed. Would definitely recommend a visit and looking forward to returning to see the NEW lounge bar that is opening shortly.
Although it's a hotel it's also good old fashioned local with a good selection of beers and very friendly staff
Lovely locals pub, with a nice seating area out the back and the most welcoming hosts! Doreen and Peter are so lovely and wonderful to chat to. We stayed in one of the rooms upstairs, which was simple, homely and comfortable. They said they often have people staying long-term and I can see why. The room was furnished with proper wooden furniture and nice new squishy carpets, beautifully cleaned and easy to relax in. Thank you so much to you both, we're incredibly grateful for your hospitality and hope we find a reason to come and stay again soon!
Stayed here because its walking distance to a show I was attending at the Regency Theatre. I rode up on my motorbike and Peter and Doreen were happy to let me park it in their back garden area. A very welcoming place and my room was spotless having just completed a major refurbishment. Would definitely stay again. Friendly locals in the bar and great beer selection.
GREAT stay at The Wheatsheaf Hotel. Peter and Doreen were so hospitable and friendly. The rooms were clean, tidy, spacious, had everything I needed, fab shower and beds were super comfy. AND, best Guinness I've tasted in a LONG time. Will definitely stay again.
